My husband and I have only been on one cruise, and I remember that Carnival charged a mandatory charge to our Sail & Sign card right up front for purchases, etc. We were wondering if they do this per room or per person?
We are taking a family cruise and want to be sure we aren't going to be charged ~300 per PERSON because we have 6 people.
Also in regards to tipping, does the $10 per day per person 'recommended' amount include children?
We also want to be sure we have enough to tip the Camp Carnival counselors. Are they tipped directly by us, or does that come out of our Sail & Sign also?
Thanks for the replies. We called Carnival and were told that we can opt to have one Sail & Sign card per room, and that tips are per person, which is fine.
But, they said that Camp Carnival counselors are not included in the tipping. Does anyone know if it is ok to tip the counselors directly?
Yes, I hand them cash on the last day that they split amongst themselves. Hard to say how much...I usually tip around $40/$50 for one child per cruise.
