Does anyone know of a cruise that has on deck activities for kids that goes someplace warm over New Years? It is not so important that we see a lot of ports just that our kids are not bored, the food is good and you have healthy low fat choices and we can relax.
Weve done New Years cruises for the past two years (3rd coming up) with RCI. The first trip was on Enchantment, the last on Navigator, and next on Mariner. I would recommend the Voyager class ships with RCI. There is so much to do on board, and Ive heard the kids clubs are good (I have a now 2.5 yr old-too young to use the clubs but still has a blast on board). There is: rock climbing wall, inline skating, mini golf, basketball (tournies too), ice skating, pools (though a bit too cold for our taste) and arcade. There is no extra charge for these (except for the arcade games), but bring along socks for rock climbing, and long pants for ice skating. The kids clubs and pools: must be 3 yrs old and potty trained. Theres Johnny Rockets (great shakes), other dining options, ice cream stands (free except Ben & Jerrys), parades in the street like promenade, shops, casino (must be 16 or 18 I believe and it is strictly enforced with the amount of kids on board at that time-last trip there were more kids than adults on board-another plus.....your kids will have others to hang out with). Dont miss the ice show and get your free tickets early to get the show you want (there are enough for all, but if you want a certain time, go early). The spas, and alternate dining Chops and Portofinos also book up fast, so rsvp that as soon as you board. Our son loves to watch the people, and explore the ship. He knows his way around before we do! There are around 4,000+ people on board, but you really dont notice it since the ships are so big.
