Default MSRP???

This is for anyone who has Booked a cruise before! I am checking out prices on the RC and Carnival cruise sites, and for example: they have Victory sailing on a 7 day out of FL. to Carribean, May 29, 2005 for starting price of 759.00 Is this the MSRP price or can I get this cheaper with a little research? I don't mind the footwork if I know I can save some money. Is it typically cheaper to go thru a TA? Help!!

Usually you get a better deal from one of the online travel agencies- the prices are going to be roughly the same as the cruise line but they can offer incentives. We booked a Princess cruise through a big agency and got $100 per person for 4 people of shipboard credit to use on board- Princess had the exact same cruise price but offered no shipboard credit. You're going to want to check the cruise line's prices, then at least 3 or 4 agents as well.

I check with the cruise line, check with my local TA and then used the Cruise Compete feature on this site. I ended up booking one of the Cruise Compete qoutes that I received. There was a large difference. If it's a difference isn't all that large I book with my local TA as then I have someone to go to locally.
