I haven't seen any place to rent strollers. Most people go with the umbrella strollers as they are light and don't take up much space. Also, depending on what ports you're going to, it can be tough going on the streets and/or side walks with a stroller. If you have the baby back packs they might work better off the ship.

Actually, most Carnival ships do rent strollers. Have your TA check w/Carnilval to verify this. I'm wondering if you're even going to be able to fit the double stroller in the elevators? Probably, but you might have to wait for an empty stroller. I'd say if Carnival does rent them, then I'd go that route.

How old are your children? My then 11 mos old mostly walked around on his own on the ship (we took a umbrella stroller). The Duo might be awkward to deal with on board and on buses and tenders. If you can use umbrellas it will be easier for all. There is not a whole lot of room in the hallways, elevators (especially during crowded times), cabins, and dining room for such a large stroller.
The side by side stroller would be a real pain pushing on the ship. Yours will be better. We have twins, adults now and I know what you mean by wanting to have the one stroller for them. I agree with the other poster about going off the ship and on to tenders, could be difficult. I would bring 2 umbrella strollers if you have the other person to push one.
Just an idea, but why not bring the two seperate strollers and maybe some "small bungee cords" that could link the strollers together so one person could push them together while in port or on the shop?
We find that a small portable stroller is the best option. I would bring two small strollers. We were on the Century last summer with our 10 month old and found that you need a small stroller to navigate through the crowds.
We took our 15 mo old twins & 3 yo, all boys, on the Rhapsody in Sept, 2004.
We have a similar tandem stroller, it is a little big but, worked great for us.
I don't think a side-by-side would fit through the doorways, etc.
If you have to tender, there are always men there to help with getting the stroller on/off.
We didn't have any problem getting around with it on the ship or in the ports, it was great to have all the extra storage space underneath. In the dining room they always found a spot to keep it while we ate. It was especially helpful in our 1 1/2 days of very rough seas from hurricane ivan!! Have a great time. We also found it helpful to take the
disposable sippy cups that can be washed or thrown away.
