We dont have a problem with the charges. Unlike the dining room, the food is better, and the service is outstanding since it is more personalized (the wait staff isnt trying to feed several large tables, turn around and do it all again for another seating really only you and a few other small ones). My drink never went below half either. Cost wise, its really no different than eating out at home at a nice steak/italian place.

I second that motion. The food is usually top notch at the specialty restaurants. We usually treat ourselves once during a cruise.
Smooth sailing,

Yes, but charging now for Johnny Rockets? Unacceptable, we had a choice in Cruise Lines with comparable prices and went with CCL, If I want to pay extra for Johnny Rockets than I will go to one on land.

I have a problem with the general concept and the trend to more of this. The food and service is supposed to be excellent in the dining room. You should not have to pay extra for good food and service that is normally included in the fare. I will not pay extra for hamburgers that I can get in the Windjammer. If the fares are kept low because people are willing to pay extra for food on the ship, then good for me. I will eat in the dining room and the Windjammer.
