My husband, my daughter (age 6) and myself are first-timers who have just booked with NCL for a 7 night cruise to Alaska. We're excited but a bit 'out to sea' when it comes to expectations for a cruise. We are avid travellers who, before we settled down properly, travelled around the world with Molly for a year when she was 1 1/2 years old. We did do the 'inclusive' resort thing a couple of years ago in Turkey and I have to say that I found it a bit claustrophobic. Please, please tell me that we're going to love cruising, NCL and Alaska?

p.s. If there's anyone else out there going on the same cruise (out of Seattle, into Vancouver) who wants to get acquainted before we get aboard please feel free to write.
Note that NCL is a bit different from other cruise lines since many of the restaurants are NOT included in your fare and you have to make reservations for them once aboard ship. While there are a few restaurants for dinner that are included, the food is much, much better on the ones that charge a fee.
Why don't you also read some of the family cruising articles on the home page of this family section that I wrote? It'll help assure you that cruising with kids is a great way to go!
