Default Kennedy Space Center

Please be patient with me I am interested in going to Kennedy space after we get off the cruise ship in Jacksonville. How long is the drive? Have any of you been there and is it expensive? How long should I plan to stay there? Will this be a good family outing? Thanks

I'm not sure how long the drive is, but it's a great family place. Just make sure that it's not too hot. I went years ago when I was 8, and all I remember is that it was so hot that you could not touch anything without burning your hands.

we went (the whole family) 2 years ago, summertime - it was hot, but the kids (11 & 7 then) really loved it - as I did, too. Being a child of the time when 'moon shots' meant all students in school gathered around a tv - and seeing the 1st man on the moon, etc... this was a great visit! Go for it! You'll enjoy it!

Glad to hear the other families enjoyed their time at the space centre. Although my husband and I were into it, our two teens (15 and 13) were bored to death and simply tolerated the outing, knowing that we would go to the beach after.

We drive down that area at least 2x yearly from Massachusett. Have family that works at K.S.C. and Patrick A.F.B. From Jacksonville to Cocoa Beach it is almost a 4hr drive. Doing the local speed limit of 75 m.p.h. Take rt. 95 south, best route.
