We are considering booking the 11 day Hawaii Islands to Ensenada and have not experienced the NCL Wind before or their kids program or NCL for that matter. We have a 4.5 year old son. Has anyone ever done this cruse before with pre-schoolers and how was the kids program. How was the boat as far as kid appropriate meals and things for them to do (ie - was the kids pool worthwhile?). Appreciate any advise anyone can offer.
Also, how smooth (or not) was the 6 day sail from Hawaii to Ensenada?
I haven't been on NCL Wind but other NCL ships. Their kids' program is good -- not the best (IMO Royal Caribbean is the leader) but fun especially for the younger ones. A friend just went on an NCL ship and she had a hard time getting her 6 and 8 year olds to leave the kids' program.
You might have some motion of the ocean since you'll be cruising the Pacific Ocean compared to the Caribbean which is usually calmer. Bring sea bands (or buy them from the ship's store) for the kids to put on their wrists if necessary.
There will be kid food. Most pools on ships are small but kids don't seem to mind (I do)!
