Default Siderails for toddlers

I understand that we must bring our own portable siderails/(bedrails) for our toddler daughter on RCI Empress this summer. We are in a jr. suite where there is a chair/loveseat that converts to a bed, the place my daughter will be sleeping. Does anyone know if these "convertible beds" are compatable with siderails? My daughter absolutely needs the rails, and I wouldn't want to be unpleasantly surprised when I get there.

Most siderails are compatible with lower (not upper) beds in cruise cabins. You just slip the siderails under the mattress. We brought siderails when my kids were toddlers. They were collapsible so they fit in our large suitcase. We didn't bring them when my oldest child cruised as a toddler/pre-schooler and got such a shock when we found her asleep on the floor of our cabin after she had fallen out of bed.
SMOOTH sailing!

Thanks Luisa!
I figured that even though it was a "sofa-bed" type thing, it should still fit. That's hysterical about your daughter falling. I assume she wasn't hurt if she was still sleeping!

My daughter was fine -- soundly asleep on the floor. I was the one who was upset when I first looked at her bed and saw her missing! I didn't think to look at the floor first!
Best,
Luisa

Oh my goodness. I bet that took a few years off your life when you noticed she wasn't in bed.

We've successfully used the portable bed rail systems on both upper and lower berths with no problems. They worked like a charm. We purchased ours from Walmart. Brand name was "First Years"
