Default travel agent or someone who works directly w/Carnival?

Is it better to go through a travel agent or to go through someone who works directly with Carnival? I have been contacted by someone from Carnival and she will be calling me tonight. Which way would I be able to get the best deal? Thanks again for any input.

I've found that I've gotten the best deals using the Cruise Compete feature on this site. If you go to cruise shopping and then cruise quotes it will come up. You enter the information about the cruise you are interested in and then you get quotes from travel agents affiliated with this site. The nice thing about that is you know that they are reputable as cruisemates has already checked them out. I usually end up with 4-8 quotes. I've booked several cruises this way and have been happy with the service I received.

Thanks! I will try that! Do they contact you via email or phone?

They contact you via this site. You'll get an email saying you have a new quote and then go in and check you account. I just posted one looking for a cruise this summer and have six quotes.
