My wife, son (12 years old), and I have been on two (1 Eastern Caribbean & 1 Western Caribbean) 7-night Disney cruises the last 2 years. We loved them both very much but are thinking about trying a different cruise line with different destinations. We loved Disney so much and are worried that we'll be disappointed with anything else. Any suggestions on what else we might like?
I'd look into one of the Royal Caribbean ship. They offer great family cruising with lots of activities for kids/families. Either a "Voyager" class or the new "Freedom" class ships are wonderful. They have one in every part of the Caribbean.
Just returned from Freedom of the Seas last week and I absolutely loved the ship, so much to do, almost difficult doing everything in just a week.
I was going to suggest the same thing as Donna. RCI has a great youth/teen program -- your 12 year old will be with a pre-teen group of 12 to 14 year olds rather than younger kids (10 to 12 year olds) on Disney, which he may enjoy.

Also, if you liked Disney so much, you do know that Disney is cruising the MEd this summer? Your child is a good age for getting a lot of of a European cruise....
