Hi
we are sailing on RCCL navigator of the seas for New year (dec 26th) doing the eastern carribean route. This is our first cruise, however my wife is really worried about rough seas. Does anyone know if this route is prone to rough seas at this time of year and how bad the "rocking and rolling gets on a ship of this size"
The Caribbean Sea on average is fairly calm, but Mother Nature is unpredictable and you never know when a storm could kick up. Just know that the ships have wonderful stabalizers and the Captain will not put the ship in harm's way. He will steer around a storm if he can.
We sail alot in January and on average our sailings have been fairly smooth.
The Carib tends to be more bumpy in Sept-Nov -- tropical storm season. While you never know, Dec/Jan are usually relatively calm.
Smooth sailing,
