We are about to book a cruise that departs on June 3. I am paranoid about the weather, because the last time we cruised, we had to skip Grand Cayman because of big waves, and that was the main port we had always dreamed of going to! That was in January...is June any better, or is it just a crapshoot?
Hipefully it will be better in June. That is a major problem when you have to tender in and its windy/wavey....Got my fingers crossed you'll be OK. Same thing happened to me once and I picked that specific cruise just to stop at Grand Cayman.....Have fun!
Thanks! We're the optimistic, easy-going kinda people, so before the cruise, I had said the only way we could be disappointed on our cruise is if the weather caused problems...I can still remember the disapointment when the captain said at 6:00 am..."Due to high waves, we will not be able to go aboard...we will have an extra day at sea"....Wahhhh!
I've called at Grand Cayman many times over the past few years and haven't had a problem yet. We usually are there in late April or July. So while it's not guaranteed, maybe you'll be luckier this time in the summer!
At least you're not going in Sept/Oct. which is tropical storm season!
