Leaving the kids at Camp Carnival on an excursion?

This is the first time cruising with the kids (7 and 10). We're going on Carnival Valor in June. We want to do a Mayan ruin excursion and are thinking of leaving the kids on the ship. Does Carnival charge for the Carnival Camp when the ship is at a port of call?

No, Carnival does not charge for leaving your kids in Camp Carnival during port time. While I usually advocate bringing the kids ashore, I totally agree on this one. The excursions to the Mayan ruins are very long and hot -- best for teens and adults.
