your experience with walkie talkies?

Hi all!

We have used walkie talkies on RCCL Freedom however sometimes you pick up other conversations and at times alot of static and I was not able to make out what my son was saying. The walkie talkies we had were about $40. I was wondering if I got more expensive ones it would be better. Any advise??

We've used them on many ships and actually I think it's more where you're on the ship as well as the size of the ship that affects the transmission. The more metal on the ships, the more interferrence.

Oh Ok thank you then I'll take the ones I have rather then go buy more expensive ones. Cruising in June I'm sure I'll be picking up many other kids conversation on my walkie talkie
