We're planning a family cruise (for 20 people) for next summer. I will be the only one traveling with children under the age of 6. My daughter will be 4 and my son will be 19 months. We are contemplating between the Carnival Valor and the Liberty of the Seas (RC). Can anyone provide me with their opinion as to which would be better for my children? Thanks!
jI think the majority of the group you are cruising with would enjoy LIberty of the Seas, including all the kids.. I think the kids programs on both lines are pretty much the same, but all the other extra activities you'd find on Liberty, you won't find on a Carnival Ship. Are there some teens also traveling with your group?
The other children will be 7, 10, 11 and 15. I think that there are enough things for all of them to do - my concern is really with the 19 month old - re will we be able to go on the port excursions with him or will there be a babysitter available - and how good are these babysitters?
Carnival: Has group babysitting for those under 2 years old but only in the morning for a few hours on port days or at night after 10 p.m.
RCI: You can book private, in-cabin babysitters once on board. We used them when our son was one and were pleased. Also, RCI has 45 minute daily Aqua Tots programming (with you or another family caretaker attending) too.
Let me know what you decide.
Smooth sailing,
