So we are leaving in 10 days and I just had a duh moment. Now I am freaking out
We are taking our DD whose is almost 4 with us. We are flying in the day before and staying at a hotel. The hotel is going to pick us up at the airport then take us to the pier the next day. Do I need to lug her car seat along?

I would take the car seat. What we did when our kids were little was to ask our room steward on the ship to store the car seat for us during the cruise so it won't take up precious room. Just remember to ask him the day before disembarkation to get it out of storage for you.

What about buying one of those booster seats at Target for $15? It would be easier to carry around and takes up less space. Maybe even use it in the dining room for dinner.

The booster idea is great. Thanks! Can you also use it for the plane?

We just came back from FL with 3 kids - were told by the flight attendant that the booster seats cannot be used during take off and landing, but are allowed the rest of the time. It can be stored in the over head, or they fit under the seat in front of you just fine.
Those little booster seats are great for travelling, we stuff ours in the carryon or attach it with velcro straps to one of the carryon's. As one other poster did mention though, even if you take carry it onto the plane, they will ask you to stow it during take off and landing. I'm not sure why this is but we always comply without arguing.
Have an awesome trip!
Once on the ship, we ask our room attendent to stow the booster in his storage age. They usually do without a problem and we just got it back the day before disembarkation.
