Freeport

Has anyone taken the kids on the Island and Garden Groves tour in Freeport? Debating between that and the plain island tour. My kids love to look out the window on car rides so I think they would like this. Also, what kind of tour bus is used? Are they open like in St. Thomas or Shuttles like in Grand Cayman?

How old are your children? I haven't been to Freeport but I've taken my kids on tons of shore excursions. I have found the traditional bus tours are usually too long and boring for little ones -- if there's a garden tour, it might interest them a bit more though. Let me know how long the tours are so I can give you better advice.

My DD will be 5 and my DS will be almost 3. I think the tour time listed on the web site said the island tour was about 30 minutes. Doesn't seem real long to me, but I haven't been there yet. I was mainly hoping to find out if anyone has done this tour - what the gardens are like - and what kind of tour bus is used.

Keep in mind that the tours usually meet about 15 to 30 minutes ahead of time in a lounge where you have to wait around until your group is called to proceed to wher eyou get your bus. You may want to bring handheld toys or books to keep them amused while they're waiting for the bus tour to start.

Great idea! Thanks. When we took DD, we did our own tours and didn't have to wait around. My kids are really excited for the beach in Nassau.
