Default Your best family cruise yet?

I am curious - for all people who have taken several multi-generational family cruises - which ship would you say was the best for YOUR family?

Hands down, it would be Allure of the Seas, or one of the newest Royal Caribbean ships. They are by far the best ships out there to cruise with family/friends of any age, something for everyone and some of the greatest entertainment on the seas...

Would have to agree with Donna. In fact, right now I'm working with a group of 21 cabins on the Allure for a family reunion at Christmas.

One thing I've learned in booking alot of family reunions for my clients over the years, as well as going on several of our own, the cruise becomes more about getting together as a family and less about the ports. Because these types of get-togethers are multi-generational, the ship and the amenities become more important. And in those cases, usually bigger is better.

Of course, it all depends on the family, what they're looking for in a cruise, and where they'd like to go. Have another family of 35 people who are all adults and selected the Celebrity Silhouette doing a 14-night Mediterranean cruise for their reunion. Based on their information, they selected the perfect ship and itinerary for them.

But no matter what cruise they decide on, family reunions on a ship are an absolutely awesome way to celebrate life and family!

I also agree with Donna. You can't beat a ship like the Allure of the Seas or it's sister the Oasis of the Seas as far as providing activities and entertainment for people of all ages.

"Multi generational cruises". We have done several. My wife and I. Our children and our grandchildren. The two that stand out in my mind are the Freedom OTS and the Oasis OTS. Both were in their Inaugural seasons.

Those are pretty extraordinary results for Royal Caribbean in this board - everyone chose them. Amazing.

I will say, honestly, however that I agree. Especially for "multi-generational". If it was a cruise with younger kids I would pick Disney, but for a large group of all ages it is hard to beat a large RCL ship for variety.

In most cases, it's the parents who are into Disney stuff. Today's kids are not exposed to Disney as much as we were years ago. Besides RCL has a lot of activities for kids of all ages.

I live in San Francisco so I've been on a Alcatraz Cruise tour several times and it's the best way to see the area around the bay, iconic Golden gate bridge and Alcatraz island. Red and white cruises are best for families, the amenities are awesome for both kids and adults.

We have done 2! The first was on the Carnival Holiday for 5 days out of Mobile AL. and while it was the smallest ship in Carnivals fleet at the time, we all had a good time because of the interaction with each other.

Second was 6 days on the Freedom of the Seas, this time all adults and again we had a great time.

The ship doesn't make the cruise! The time with family is what made both cruises unique and wonderful. I agree that the ports didn't really matter as the 5 day cruise only went to Cozumel and Calica Mexico and the 6 day went to Cozumel, Cayman Islands and Laberdee Haiti, places we had been before with the exception of Calica and Laberdee.
