Default First time cruise with 3 teenagers

We will be going on our first cruise next November (Thanksgiving break) for our 30th anniversary and we are making it a family vacation with our 3 teenagers. Is is better to get a suite w/a balcony or 2 ocean view rooms that connect? We will be driving to Tampa or Jacksonville and our options for ports are Cozumel/Grand Cayman or Nassau/Half Moon Cay. Which are the best ports and which cruise line, Carnival or Royal Caribbean?

Almost always, a suite for 5 people is going to cost alot more than two connecting cabins. Plus, with connecting cabins, you'll have two bathrooms, two TV's, and a door to close when you'd like some privacy.

As for Carnival or RCCL, that's a personal choice. Keep in mind, what one person loves, another will hate. So you'll find as many people liking each of these or not liking each of these as there are people. RCCL will be more expensive, but their newer ships offer alot of amenities to keep teens busy. Whereas Carnival will cost less because it's more of a party ship. As for ports, it really depends on what you want to do - shop, sightsee, go to the beach, etc.

Talk to your Cruise Specialist and they can provide alot of helpful information you can use to find the right cruise for you. But whatever you decide, don't wait too much longer because that time of year is very popular and the prices will continue to go up.

CB,
What are the two ships? Sometimes that may make a difference...
