Default Safes

I've read where you can use any credit card for the safe in your room. But, how safe would your stuff be if anyone can get into it like that? Or have I misread info about the safes? Please help, I am totally confused on the safes.

Only the credit card used to close the safe would work, so only someone with your card could open the safe.

Some ships also use in cabin safes which are programmed by the passenger using a 4 digit PIN number.
I prefer these as it illiminates the need for carrying a card around. On those ships that require a card, any card with a magnetic strip will do. I use my Costco card, so I'm not that concerned should I lose it, as opposed to losing a credit card.

Can U tell I learned that from experience..

The Princess Ships safes uses a 4 number pin. I always use my street address, that way I won't forget it.
