Simple question but being first timers was just wondering - once you are assigned a table, are you are shown to the table each night or do you just show up at the appropriate time and seat yourselves.
Congratulations on choosing the best way to vacation. You just proceed to your table each night on your own once the doors have been opened. You have a fifteen minute window in which to be seated, so in consideration to others at your table do try to be prompt. If you think you might forget where your table is, just carry your table seating card with you and don't hesitate to ask a maitre de for assistance, especially if you should enter the dining room from a different entrance or floor. What cruise line have you choosen? For breakfast and lunch in the dining room, many cruise lines now have "open seating" especially on port days. You will enter a pre-determined doorway and be seated with other guests who have just been seated. I enjoy this as it gives you an opportunity to meet new people and probably eat less but very good food. If I can help with any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
