I have never been on a cruise before so I am very excited to be going on one. My friend and I (40, 30) and going on Royal Caribbean to Hawaii May 2002. I have read some good and not so good reviews about RCI. I don't get to meet many new people in my line of work so I was hoping it would be a good time for dancing and socialiizing. Do you think that there will be a good mix of ages on the cruise? . Thanks for any info or opinions that you have for me!!!
I think both you and your friend will have a great time on the cruise, although being a bit longer than 7 days, you may find a bit older crowd, but still cruisers your age too. BTW, what ship are you cruising on? Be sure to join in on all the activities that would interest you, best way to meet people and you will meet all kinds, nicest part of cruising.
Here also is a link to some great tips for a first time cruiser, enjoy:
You'll have a fabulous time. Having never cruised before, you will be in awe. Many times the 'not so glowing' reviews of ships and cruises are written by people who have been on many cruises and tend to view things much differently.
I know I tend to 'pick things apart' differently than others do.
Thanks so much for your input!
I forgot to say in my last post that it is the Vision of the Seas of RCI and that it is a 10 night cruise from Ensenada to Hawaii. I have never even been away from the East Coast before so this whole thing is so exciting to me!! Any advice about the potential for seasickness? Someone said that they used a wrist bracelet type of treatrment and felt even worse and lost her depth perception for a while!!!
You may want to just pick up sone Bonnine at your local drug store before you leave. I have heard it could be rough from Ensenada to Hawaii, but once at the islands, its better, you just never know, so its better to be prepared than to suffer.
Hopefully the water will be fine. I always have the Bonnine with me, but so far have never had to take any, hope its the same with you.
