Due to the recent folding of Midway Airlines and the problem with air carriers cancelling flights out of our small airport we decieded to book air and transfers with RCCL. When do you know what flights you are on and do you automatically stay the night prior if no decent flight is offered. Our cruise is in March on Voyager of the Sea. I'm pretty sure they don't book the air deals til after final payment is made, usually you can find out about your flights 30 days prior to the cruise, and no I would not assume they will fly you out the day before, some cases they do, but don't plan on that.
You can also talk to your travel agent about doing a flight deviation if you want a certain airline/flights etc. Have heard the cost is around $50, but in the past I've found that sometimes its worth the extra money to be able to pick when you fly.
