1st time cruise evening wear
Leaving from Galveston Dec 8 on Carnival I really need 'cocktail' type evening wear? Have plenty of silk pants/shirts/skirts combos, but all publicity pics always have women in spaghetti strap type after 5 dresses. Mine are not quiet that dressy, besides I heard it gets cool on board in the evening. Is it really that dressy at night? Have friend that says this cruise is a little more casual than others...any response? Thanks!!!!

Re: 1st time cruise evening wear
Formal night on the cruise ships is whatever you want to make of it. Some people will be in tuxes and sequin gowns and others will be in polo's and khakis. What you have will be fine.

Yes it is cool in the dining rooms at night. They have the A/C set to keep the wait staff comfortable, which can be a bit chilly for some.

Hi, Ginger ...

Catching up with questions after a cruise ...

Silks are more than appropriate. The "gown" bit is largely a thing of the past.

Find some "fun" jewelry to dress the silks up a bit and you'll be in perfectly good taste.
