I just got back from the Carnival Victory. I cruised 11/18 out of Miami. I had the best time ever!! It was really great. The food was great the shows were good. I enjoyed it so much I can't wait to book my next one. It was an Eastern Carribean Cruise.
We went to San Juan,St.Croix, and St. Thomas. St.Croix has this Harbor night festival every other Wednesday. It was alot of fun. My niece and nephew went snorklin. I laid out every day ate a lot and drank alot and shopped alot.. It was fun!!! I am so ready to book another one here soon. Rose
Now you know why this board is so active. Cruising is a wonderful way to vacation, relax, be pampered a bit and get away from the everyday life . We did our first cruise just 5 short years ago.
Now nine cruises later, with number 10 booked and number 11 well
into the planning stages. I just love it when I get to see that someone else has caught the cruise bug.
So glad to hear you enjoyed your first cruise and are ready to go again, thats usually what happens, just like Bill said, cruising is a wonderful way to vacation!
So, any ideas on the next one?
Ain't it a terrible way to spend a week. Sunshine, blue water, pampered service , every meal out, a show or two every night,
someone to pick up the towels and make the bed and you can drink all you want and not worry about a DWI.Pools, Hot tubs , casinos ,shopping and a new port every day or so to explore.Beautiful women in elegant gowns accompanied by men in tuxedos, happy couples, happy families, happy singles.Sunrise approaching a tropical island and sunsets fading into the ocean. More stars than you ever saw in the big city.Fan coral, brain coral ,angel fish and parrot fish and hundreds of fish in differing colors, shapes and sizes beneath BLUE BLUE water.Steel bamds , string quartets, singers, comedians and dancers to entertain 24/7. Every one saying "yes sir, how can I help you". Who would possibly enjoy that?
I haven't decided on the next one yet. Have to get the credit card paid off from this one first. Plus I am out of vacation time at work till next year. But next time I am going with one of my girlfriends. This past time was with my brother his wife and 2 kids. I shared a room with my 12 year old niece. But it still was great and alot of fun. Anyone have any suggestions for my next one? I want to go somewhere different then San Juan, St. Croix and St. Thomas. I wouldn't mind doing the same ship the Victory it was so nice. But I will probably want to see a different ship. maybe next summer or later I will do another one I hope. Rose
We just took our first cruise last month. I knew I would love it, and knew my husband would enjoy it, but I had no idea he'd be as enthralled with it as I was! He loved it so much. We have planned for years to go to the Daytona 500 for his 40th birthday (1 1/2 years away!). Last week he said to me, "you know how we're supposed to go to the race for my 40th? Do you think we could go on a cruise instead?"
Gee...let me think...OF COURSE!!!!! :-)
Glad the cruise bug bit you like it did us!!
Rose, glad to hear how great your trip was. I'm doing the same cruise in January 2002. You mentioned Harbor nights in St. Croix. I thought the itinerary said we'd be leaving St. Croix by 6pm. Was yours later? I keep hearing about the harbor nights party, but have ruled it out because I thought we'd miss it.
This will be my 1st cruise also, so I don't have much feedback. I have been to Aruba, Jamaica and Mexico. Mexico has better excursions. Aruba and Jamaica are a little boring, but there's always snorkeling.
I'll post a message discussing my trip when I get back. Have fun planning your next.
We were in St.Croix till I know after 11pm... Cause at 7 or 8 I walked my nephew back to the ship and the rest of my family stayed and party till 10pm or later.. San Juan was like 6-2am.. St. Croix I can't remember the time we got there but we were there at night.. And St. Thomas we were back on board by 5 or 6 I think.. Hope you have a great time.. And yes let us know about it when you get back..
