Default Honeymoon cruise, when to book?

We are planning on going on a Honeymoon cruise in October of this year to the Mediterranean. Many of the websites are saying to book before March to get the best deals. We can't really afford to book right now. Would we miss out by waiting? Will better deals come along?

Also, which cruises to the Mediterranean attract younger people? It seems that all the reviews I have looked at say that they are geared toward Seniors. We don't really care about dancing all night or anything, we just don't want to be the only 20-somethings on the boat!

Hi Laura,
One advantage to booking early is cabin location and the choice of the cabin catagory you want. If that doesn't matter much, then book when you can afford it, although when first booking, you will just need to put down the deposit on a credit card. The final payment is usually around 60 days prior to the cruise, so if there is a special cabin you want, booking early is the key. Most travel agents will adjust your price if it does go lower after you book, but you can also keep an eye out on the prices.

As for the ages of cruisers, you will find a bit older crowd on the longer cruises, usually over 7 days, so while there probibaly won't be that many cruisers in your age group, there should be some.

You may also want to post on the "bargain finder" here to get some prices and availability, its a good place to start, and travel agents will e-mail you back with what they have on the cruise you list, its very easy and fast, good luck and Congrats on the upcoming wedding/honeymoon!

Hi, Laura ...

What Donna said. Longer cruises and cruises further away do tend to attract an older crowd. However, some of the "oldies" bring a lot more to the table than you might expect.

For years, my husband and I have joked about the "Under 60 Club" on HAL and how we always manage to find each other.

I have fond memories of getting "busted" for noise when the Under 60's got a little rowdy in somebody's suite one night.

Have a wonderful cruise and if there's anything else we can do to help, just holler !!!
