Default room upgrades

Can you tell me how that I would need to upgrade my cabin, if available? My travel agent talked us into booking just a normal stateroom, knowing the entire time that I really wanted a balcony. She just kept on telling us "You will only be in there to sleep"-- now we are having regrets. Also, if this is available is it really expensive the day of departure? Thanks for your help..

Hi Leigh Anne,
At this point, you may want to call your travel agent again and see what it would cost to upgrade to a balcony cabin. Sometimes when you book a guarantee catagory cabin, there is a slight chance of an upgrade, seldom when you book a specific cabin. Even then, we always book a balcony cabin in hopes of a suite possibly, so far no such luck, but at least I still have a balcony cabin. Your travel agent should be able to see what is still available, good luck and its sure worth a phone call.

I think you need a new travel agent. In the meantime, just TELL her you want a balcony.

Many people will tell you to book a cabin you're going to be happy with, not count on a visit from the upgrade fairy.

Some people will tell you to book the lowest inside to save money and that you're never there anyway.

I've never really agreed with that theory. My theory is that insides are so unpleasant noboy WANTS to spend time in them.

What I like about balcony cabins is the feeling that they are larger because of the glass doors AND being able to sit in privacy and watch the waves go by.

Good luck with the TA and let us know what you decide.

As a Travel agent I have to agree with Pamda. I just brought your question to the attention of everyone in the office, just to remind them how not to treat a customer.. Thanks for the help. I'd call your travel agent right away though and not wait til the last minute as balcony's can sell out quickly.. Have a good cruise

I would also go back to your agent ASAP and make the change. It is worth the upgrade. It is great in the morning and night just to sit out there and enjoy the view in your PJ's . I hope you can up grade, you will not forget the enjoyment !

Just do it
