I am very pumped, first cruise and all (April 28), and I have too many questions for just one posting, but the question of the day is.....We are going to be in Grand Cayman from 7:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. and after reading all the great reviews about Captain Marvins stingray tour, that's the only way to go, I don't want to go on the ship's tour with a gazillion people.
Here's the question; Captain Marvin's tour starts at 8:30, I have heard a few rumblings about Carnival only letting their own tours off first thing in the morning, leaving passengers who have booked with other tour operators possibly not able to get on a tender in time to make their tour. Has anyone been on this ship? Did you have trouble getting to shore early in the morning?
I have been to Grand Caymen on the Sensation. Anyone could go on any tender at any time. We did not have to show any tickets or anything to get on a tender. We simply lined up and filed off the ship onto the tender. There wasn't even much of a wait because the tenders ran continuously so you left when you were ready.
I don't think you will have any problems.
Just to remember to get back early. The lineup to get back to the ship was enormous and Carnival will only hold the ship if there is a delay with their tours. You're on your own if you are doing an independent tour.
