Default hotels in Vancouver

Any recommendations on a hotel in Vancouver? It looks like the downtown area is near the cruise ship terminals, but I can't tell if there are hotels closer to the Ballantyre(?) terminal. Probably getting to Vancouver on May 17th or 18th, ship leaves on 5/20. Thanks for advice.

Take a look at the Rennaisance Hotel. Excellent location in downtown Van. and not too far to either pier.

We are doing a precruise stay at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. I hear it is a nice hotel also I hear the Pan Pacific is nice also with the elevator taking you to the peir (Canandal Place). We didn't book the Pan Pacific because it was not one of the pre-cruise hotels offered through the cruiseline.

Try these sites

Hi, Located on Robson street in the middle of shopping is a terrific hotel called the Blue Horizon, Each room has 2 corner windows and sliders to the small balcony which gives a great panoramic view, ask for a higher floor, like 25+ and the whole city can be seen. If you do call, check on the floor necessary for the view

Thanks for all the info. I wound up using priceline.com; staying at the Hyatt Regency for $70US/night. Now I just have to cavort around Vancouver for two days.

I go to Vancouver on a monthly basis and stay at the Delta Vancouver Suites at 550 W Hastings..just a few blocks from Canada Place and that terminal. But Vancouver is not huge...(well, at least compared to Los Angeles)...so I doubt getting to the other terminal would be a hassle either.

Great luxury rooms (all suites) with a great staff, and almost always some sort of deal...check on expedia. If you're an American Express gold card holder, they usually have special rates, too...
