Safe to eat in Mexico?
I will be going on a cruise to the Mexican Rivera in May. Is it safe to eat the food and drink the water in Mexico? I had heard alot about that you shouldnt drink the water there, but what about eating the prepared food? Thanks!

Most restaurants and bars are fine. As long as its a clean "mainstream" restaurant you should be fine. Its the street vendors and kiosk type things that you have to worry about. A main rule to think about is - don't drink anything from a bottle or can. Pour it into a clean glass with very little ice. Personally i would not drink tap water in Mexico stick with bottled water when in port.

We go to P.V. a lot, sometimes for as long as a month. The restaurants, in general try very hard to maintain very good health standards. We have eaten in many of the above restaurants, large and small. They usually serve bottled water, but it is fine to require it.
Also restaurants will not care if you bring your own water into the restaurant.

Eating off street vendors can be a bit dicey, but I must admit I have done it from time to time with no problems. Please e-mail me if you would like some recommendations. There are some wonderful restaurants in P.V.
