Default Forget about wine, I want bring my own DIET COKE!

I have seen several messages about taking on a bottle of wine, etc. I don't drink wine, and not that much mixed stuff. But, I LIVE on Diet Coke, 5 or 6 cans a day some days. We are sailing on Princess to Alaska next July. I haven't heard if I can get a "soft drink pass" from them. But if I can't, can I take my own D.C., without it getting it taken away?

Cruise lines have a lot more important things to worry about than whether you buy a 6-pack of diet Coke when you're ashore.

The "soft drink pass" is usually for fountain-style pouring, rather than actual cans.

Yes Tami,
You can lug along DC if you want to, and also pick some up along the way. I think though, you'll find thats its also on the high side at any of the Alaska ports.

Actually, I actually did this on my Ocean Princess cruise going out of Vancouver. I bought two 12-packs of Diet Pepsi (sorry, other brand drinker (grin)) and checked it in along with my luggage (!), attaching one of my OP luggage tags to the plastic bag that the DP was in. Both 12-packs safely made their way to our cabin and we greedily slurped away during the one week cruise. Good luck! Think I ended up buying the DIet Pepsi in a 7-11 in Vancouver - don't remember exactly where it was anymore. With the exchange rate, I think it worked out pretty decently for price.

Thanks for the info, normally I wouln't think anyone should care about a few cokes. But, I deal with the public and money needing management daily, I know how things can be sometimes. O.K. putting a case of Diet Coke on the things to pack list .

We took a 12 pk of diet coke on our last cruise. I hate fountain style drinks. We had no problem at all. Happy sipping........

Those cans can explode and have heard of this happening. I took the 2 Liter plastic bottles of my diet drink and I brought it on collapsible cooler and even had it on the plane. You can carry all the soft drinks you want.It was nice to be able to have my diet drinks whenever I wanted,
