My fiancée and I are going on our first cruise for our honeymoon in 5 weeks time, however the travel agents have said there maybe one formal night on our cruise.
I don't really want to wear a tux, as I'm Scottish, I was wondering if it would be ok to wear a kilt as this is our formal national dress.
Can anyone help, please any advice would be great. We don't want to miss out on anything because of not having the right clothes to wear.
Thats great thanks. Only booked the cruise at the last minute, got loads of things to worry about as neither of us has been on a cruise before, we get married on the Sunday (4 weeks 6 days away) and fly out to Rome on the Tuesday.
But thanks, will remember to bring my kilt with me.

Gang forward! Wear the kilt, but security might frown at the claymore.

Does one pretan or show up in his kilt with lilly white legs in the Caribbean. Just kidding. I think it would be great if you showed up in your Kilt. If I were on your ship, I would want to take a picture. I work in an enviroment with many cultures and traditions, and I respect them all. Have fun!!!!
Jimbo, I think a kilt is a great idea for formal night - be sure to have a formal portrait taken onboard! My son-in-law married my step-daughter in a kilt and the minister also wore one! Have a great time!
We were recently on a cruise with a Scottish family. The father and his three sons all wore their kilts. They looked great. Mom wore a nice dress with nice jewelry, etc. They made for a happy looking family.
