Default A few questions from a first timer

My wife and I are taking our first cruise in May. We have not booked the cruise yet, but know which cruise we want and the dates. It will be a celebration of a few things. Mine and my wifes 50th birthdays and our 28th anniversay. Could I get some opinions concering a few things.

1. Cruise dates are May 16 -23 2004. Carnival Inspiration. Will I get better pricing booking now or waiting till closer to cruise time?

2. We have some friends and family members joining us on the cruise. Is it better for us to book together or will we still be able to coordinate things like dining times and such if we book seperately.

3. I do not mind spending money but really enjoy it when I get the same as someone else and save at the same time. Could I save more money by booking online or am I better off using a TA. Would I have a better chance for upgrades by using a TA?

I have lots of other questions too but don't want to overload you guys right off the bat.

Thanks for the help

Joe D.

Post your cruise request in the "Bargain Finder" section of this board, you will be contacted by reputable travel agents with great prices.
I would book all together, you could get a group rate and cabins near eachother if you want. Its easier to get the table assignments together if you book together as a group. It can be done separately just request a large table and to be seated with Mr. & Mrs. Steven Smith in cabin A420.
