Best place to purchase?

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it is best to book a cruise through the cruise company, a travel agent, or internet like Orbitz or something like that. Is there any difference? And can anyone tell me if they have had a bad experience if they booked with an internet travel provider.

there are so many variables to consider. My advise to you would be to shop around on the internet, post your cruise here on the bargain finder and you will be contacted by reputable travel agents, and go to your local TA. Since you are a first-timer, your local TA might be the best place to go, a person to talk to who is there just for you. Most TA's will try to meet or beat offers on the net. Your local TA also might throw in a few "freebies" with your cruise, things like photo vouchers or shipboard credit things like that.

Hi: I would book your cruise through a travel agent or directly with the cruise company. If there are any problems, it is easier for the company or the travel agent to fix it for you. A travel agent could give you advice on which ship would be best for you etc and work on your needs....like cost etc.

My TA always have much cheaper prices than what the cruiselines are offering. I agree with Mr. Disney, if there are any problems you TA can fix them
