I am going on my first cruise for my honeymoon in December. I have read about all the stuff people suggest to bring and it seems like they are moving into an apartment or something. I don't want to leave anything behind, but I also don't need anymore craziness than I will already have surrounding my wedding. We leave the morning after our wedding so we won't have much time for anything last minute.
3 bathing suits & a cover-up
4 pr shorts
7 mix/match t-shirts
1 pr. black dress pants
1 black dress skirt
5 dressy tops
2 formal dresses (usually one long and one short)
1 pr black high heel sandals
1 pr sandals
1 pr water shoes.
1 dressy sweater
We come from the Northeast so I wear jeans and sneakers down on the plane and bring a light weight jacket. I also pack rain ponchos that fold up in the little bags. If anything gets dirty you can always use the laundry service. Hope this helps.

Darcy's list seems about right. You can tailor it to your style. I take sun dresses rather than black pants / skirt.
In addition to the clothes you may want to bring:
sun screen
a hat
highlighter (for marking your daily itinerary)
a beach bag
camera / film
a small handbag for evening (you don't need much: a comb, lipstick, a few $$ for the casino & your sign & sail card)
more money
Other people advise:
duck tape for "emergency" repairs
night light
insulated mug for drinks
hair dryer (the one in the cabin doesn't have a lot of power)
Congratulations on your wedding. Enjoy the honeymoon cruise.
2 bathing suits w/cover-ups
4
pair short
5 shirt - mix & match t-shirts, tanks & halters depending upon the weather
2 formal outfits - one long one short
1pair khaki docker's type pants with 2 nice tops
3 sheath/sundress
1 lightweight dressy sweater
wrap to go over long halter dress
1 dressy evening bag, 1 casual evening bag
1 pair casual flat sandals
1 pair dressy black heels
1 pair water sandals
1 travel outfit - usually knit pants, t-shirt (2-one for each way) and a zip-front sweatshirt
1 pair good walking sneakers
sun hat or baseball cap
good sunglasses the kind that cut the glare
SUNSCREEN-SUNSCREEN-SUNSCREEN- don't forget lip sunscreen
basic daily tolietry needs
daily prescription meds - bring enough for the entire trip
over-the-counter meds(Advil, Rolaids, Sudafed, things like that) Bandaids, Aloe Burn Gel, Purell hand sanitizer, Shout Wipes,
Small backpack to carry stuff to the beach & excursions
Walkman, MP3 player whatever you have to listen to your tunes on the plane, on the beach, by the pool
hip/fanny pack to carry your basic daily cruise needs (sign & sail card, id, etc)
hair dryer(depending upon your ship) especially if your hair is long, thick or curly. The ones in your stateroom aren't very powerful
As a minister let me also include that you may need to bring a copy of the wedding license. This is if you are booked on an airline or the cruise under a married name. Ask the minister to make a copy for you. The original will still need to be mailed to the county clerks office, but the copy will suffice. Congrats!

Many people pack TOO MUCH. It is quite funny watching them trying to deal with their luggage at the airport and piers.
Just take the basic clothes, you won't wear all of them, unless you are fanatical about changing three times a day.
On sea days I wore my swim suit( I brought three but only ended up wearing my favorite two) and a coverup. Then for dinner a sundress( except formal night) .Bring two nice outfits for formal night, don't go crazy here, depending on what line you are cruising sequins and tuxes while nice are not the "norm" on many lines.
Basically since we are beach people we stcik with swimsuits and shorts at port too.
The one item that you won't regret bringing is a beach bag, if you are smart use a carry on that doubles as a beach bag.
Sunscreen and meds and you are set.
Many peole have massive lists with duct tape night lights and even the kitchen sink. YOu don't NEED any of those items , some cruisers just enjoy them. Try and figure out your own preferences.
If you are going to an area where there is snorkeling - I would strongly suggest you purchase your own equipment. A full snorkel set can be purchased for a minimal amount of money, and your own snorkel equipment is so much superior than the junk they lend you or rent to you on the excursions.
In addition - if someone didn't mention it - a few pairs of earplugs. There are elderly people in the showlounges, and they really crank up the loudspeakers.
On my first cruise a year ago, I packed WAY too much!! I lived in my swimsuit and cover ups while on board except at night when we went to dinner. I will be taking Half of what I took last year when we go on the Pride this March.
I was guilty of over packing but at least not by much. Days at Sea - plan on living in your swim suit and what you plan to wear for dinner. The other days. If you doing beach days when at port. Shorts and tanks. you'll be living in your swim suit again. I can't stress suntan lotion enough. Dont' pack towels and that sort of thing. Its already on board. I didn't spend much time in my cabin so the extras for that I didn't need or ever had the need to use. put your shampoos and such in small travel containers. Just enough for your trip. You don't want to carry full bottles around and take up all your space. I used the dryer on board. It was good enough for me. I didn't plan on taking any portrait pictures so I didn't bother with the curling iron and all that stuff. I didn't need to look like I was going to a photo shoot every night. If you can fit it, take a backpack with you for excursions, it was real handy.
