We're in SO. Indiana (Evansville) and we don't sail for over a year...but that leaves plenty of time for the research...it will be a first cruise for us both. We're calling it the honeymoon we didn't get. (second marriage for us both, March2003). I envy your sail date!!
NikkiY - envy you too....we're basically looking at one year away! sigh....it seems like a long time but we really want to do it right. Our families have "merged" with this marriage but we still need a honeymoon A L O N E!!! I have two (15 and 13, he has one-7) Kids don't seem too upset that they are not going....but I'm sure there will be more cruises after this and they will be included in the majority then!
I tried to talk my sister and her BF into going with us - they wouldn't have anything to do with the idea....I just don't get it. She has cruised once before and said after the third day she was ready to come...no problems with motion sickness or anything like that - just didn't interest her. Go figure...
Itty - Not from Indiana -but wanted to let you know that going solo on a carnival cruise ship is not bad - have done so myself.. I was seated at table with others that were single - made friends there and throughout the ship. You need to not be shy - just go for it. If you want to change your plans and go May 7 out of Miami, there is a group of folks - mostly from Ohio that are on the Carnival Valor you can join. Go to the CCL Valor Singlers Cruise (new post) message board. Good Luck and remember get out there and have fun on whatever cruise you are on.
It is cold and miserable here this weekend...lots of cruisers have ditched the cold for the warm beautiful tropics. I can't understand why I am still here!!! Once this b itter cold weather is gone - it will be easier to be patient...but until then, I am whining in single digit temps!
southern Michigan here. Will be leaving from South Bend to Chicago Feb. 18, 2005.
Counting the days to get out of all the snow we are having right now- Sailing to Mexican Riviera on the Diamond Princess.....
im new to the message boards....and first time cruiser....im about 20 miles north of indianapolis and sailing on the westerdam december this year...cant wait!!! please let me know if anyone else from indiana will be going on this cruise.....im going by myself and will be assigned a roommate.....but i would still like to chat with anyone who is booked on this sailing or who is thinking about this cruise.
I didn't know you could be 'assigned' a roommate...please let me know how that works...I'm curious. I know that singles have to pay extra but didn't realize there were more options available. As of now we have 278 days left...and to think we started out with over 400+ days! Still seems to be too long!
