Default Your stuff while you swim?

Whether it be a snorkling trip or laying on the beach, what do you do with your stuff (money, documents, roomkeys) while you are in the water. In the USA I'd feel ok about leaving it on a towel, but is there a concern for theft if we wanted to be in the water for a while?

I worried about this as well. I ended up going to beaches where I could rent a locker and keep the key on me.

most beaches have lockers for rent.
On excursions your items are safe in a beach bag on the boat.

PakPak is a little waterproof wallet that you can attach to a lanyard or onto your swimsuit that would work well for your concerns.

We always put our ID, Credit Card and $$ in our waterwallets, or in a double ziplock bag. My DH puts the ziplock in a pocket of his swimsuit and closes it w/ a saftey pin. I put the waterwallet around the strap of my swimsuit. We only take disposable cameras with us when we go to a beach. I don't want to have to mess with going to and from a locker.

We got our waterwallets at the local dive shop, and the sell them on all of the ships we have been on.

Get to know your neighbors!!! See the couple resting under the tree behind you? Ask them if they wouldn't mind watching your things. In turn, you can watch their things while they go for a snack or a walk. Most people on the beach are concerned about the same thing and are more than willing to trade babysitting jobs with you.

I also make sure not to bring the good camera. If anything gets stolen out of my bag, I only need to buy more lotion and a towell. The money and credit cards are kept in my waterwallet.

With all that handled, we can take a nice long walk on the beach and not worry.
