Default Birth Certificate Question

Okay, I know we should have gotten passports but we are new to this cruising thing and didn't know about it in time unless we want to spend the equivalent of another cruise to expedite them. Now the question, I had to order a new birth certificate. It came in and looks official, all signed and stuff but it doesn't have an embossed stamp. I know the last couple things I had notorized didn't have an embossed stamp either, just says all the stuff is true and correct, etc and then signed. Should I be good to go?

Hi Slide,
I just hope all the stops you are doing, doesn't require a passport now....I'd suggest applying for them when you return if you don't need them this time. You'll be even more ready to go.

Happy Cruising.

Thanks Donna. Yeah, when we get back we are going to go ahead and get passports for everybody. We made our reservations through a group cruise and sat around blistfully unaware of any of the requirements until it was almost too late. We are cruising at the end of June. I ran across cruise mates one day and it was "oh cr**" we better get busy and see if we have all the documentation. Of course I couldn't find my certified birth certificate and that took a couple weeks to get.

you might just check with the cruise company if you haven't already; my mom owns a passport business and she had someone last week who just had their birth certificate and the cruise line wouldn't let them on even through they were going to mexico and the keys. The law is you don't need a passport (yet) if you are traveling by land or sea to mexico or canada, but some cruise lines are enforcing the passport rule. best of luck

Is it stamped as an official document on the back? Did it come back from the state? AYAFO get your passports way ahead.
