Default Alaskan Ports?

Am planning Alaska cruise for summer 2008 and am trying to decide on itinerary. What port would you say is a must see? Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway or Icy Point Strait. Am doing Inside Passage from Vancouver and none of the cruise lines goes to all of these ports so will have to decide which one I will miss. Any advice appreciated.

Hi New,
I've only been to Ketchikan and Skagway, both ports worth seeing, not sure about the other two you mentioned. Does your itinary include Juneau?

Thanks Donna. All the cruises stop in Juneau so will definitely see that. The other difference is some go to Hubbard Glacier while others go into Glacier Bay. Glacier Bay seems to be a must see.

Hi New,
I had a stop at Hubbard Glacier and I was totally amazed. The captain said we had the nicest day there for the past 6 weeks, so we were lucky, but it was one of the highlights of the cruise for me.

Thanks very much for the feedback. After reading various message boards, web sites etc. we have decided on RCCL so will see Hubbard Glacier. Boat is Serenade of the Seas. Have you been on this ship? Next research is on the various excursions. I think I am driving everyone crazy with all my questions and research and am not sure how I will be able to wait until next summer for the cruise.
