What do we need

When we leave the ship at the ports what do we have to carry with us? Do we have to take our passports everywhere we go? What about the cash and credit cards we leave on the boat is there somewhere safe for them. This is our first cruise and we want to make sure we do everything right so we can have a great time. So much to know and learn

You do not need your passports. You can & should leave them in the safe in your cabin. You probably need a photo id & you musy have your ship's ID sign & sail card to get on & off.

You want some $$ in smaller bills & 1 credit card, preferably not the same one you secured your on-board account with just in case.

I usually bring a bag/back pack with some water, a towel, & sun screen .

In the Caribbean you won't need your passport. In a few other destinations you may, if you aren't on a ship's tour.

You will need a photo id and your Ship's Card. It is also a good idea to take a photocopy of your passport and the name and phone number of the cruiseline's port agent. The port agents name, address and phone number will be in your daily program.

Otherwise: Trish's advice is about the best.

Take care,
Mike
