hey all! my husband and i are going on our first cruise in july-to alaska! we are excited yet apprehensive. i googled cruise message boards and now, here i am!
I was on Celebrity Infinity in Alaska the first time, sister ship to millie, so it will be a nice ship to cruise on in Alaska for you. The ship is easy to get around on, nice open decks, etc. I loved the little cafe on the back deck for breakfast and or lunch, great views.
We are also FIRST TIMERS!!! My husband and I are in are early 50's and going with two other couples, also first timers.
Have been booked since last year for July 18-25th 2008, on RADIANCE OF THE SEAS!!
We are flying into Vancouver a day early and staying at the BLUE HORIZON
And we are staying one night POST cruise at the Murphy Motel in Seward
We already booked Taku Floatplane and lodge in Junea
Whitetrain and Trail for Skagway
We also pre booked "The Magic Bus" who will pick us up at our motel in Seward, and they have personalized a all day tour for the six of us, as we travel to Anchorage to catch our flight home. They have planned for us to have coffee at Summit Lake Lodge, tour the conservation Park, have Lunch at Portage Glacier Lodge and then on to Anchorage for shopping and dinner at GlacierBrewhouse, they will pick us up after dinner and take us to the airport. They were highly recommended and will custom tailor a tour specific to your needs.
When in Vancouver take the water ferry across to the north shore to see a different perspective of the waterfront or see Stanley Park or the international district or zip a bit on the sky train - then there is that wicked bridge.

My DH and I are also headed to Alaska on our first cruise too! We're booked on the NCL Pearl for May 09. I'm so excited...it's gonna be a long 7 months waiting lol!
Pam, You are going to love the Taku lodge. We went in August 07 and the people are great. It was the best meal we had the entire cruise. Look out for bears . My wife purchased thier recipe book and we have enjoyed some of thier recipies here at home. Have a great cruise..MD
