Hello, does anyone know anything about travelers insurance??? If i break a leg over seas or need medivacced out of the caribbean (god forbid!!)?!? Is it worth it? Is there one better than the other? What should I look for? Thanks a lot, I'm not a big traveler, so not sure!

Definately don't cruise without it. Check on insuremytrip.com and see what meets your needs. We usually use TravelGuard or CSA.

CACruiser gave you the same advice I would give you. Cruising without travel insurance is like snorkeling without a snorkel vest. You may not need it but if something happens you will be VERY happy you have it.

Take care,
Mike

On the Alaska Cruise we just came from , two people needed to
medical removed from the ship at the next port.
Travel insurance also covers you if you get ill and can't sail.

Friends of ours where going on cruise with another couple.
This couple didn't buy travel/trip insurance, our friends always buy
insurance. The husband (Of the ininsured couple) went to his doctor.
His doctor said he needed an emergency heart bypass surgery.
They lost all the cruise fares including airfare., if they had insurance
they could of got most of their fare back.

A couple of years ago a cruiseship going to Alaska from Seattle , had to
divert to Port Hardy BC for a medical evacuation. If the person was
uninsured , ther could of been a large large bill
The approx cost of medivac in BC is about 20K depending on wher
you have to be moved too.
