So my first cruise will be in july..
our family hasn't really decided what ship to go on yet,
but i just wanted to know what ships would be best for me,
my sister (19 years old), and my parents..
oh and as i write this message,
i'm currently 17, and i'll be turning 18 in june..
i'm graduating high school this year.
i'm guessing i'll be booted out of the teen area, so i really don't
know what to expect on a cruise for my age level ( i think i'd really miss the "teen" part of my life)..
(its quite interesting because i wanted to go to the disney cruise but
my sister objected hah..)
Word on the street is that Carnival and Royal Caribbean are the lines with the youngest average age of passengers. Those lines might be preferable for young people. However, any cruise that you get for free is a good cruise.
Just got back from a 7 day cruise on Caribbean Princess and there were many 18 to 20 year olds on board and they all seemed to have a wonderful time. Also, Princess allows the staff to hang out with the passenger in the night club and at the late night Bistro buffet. Many of the staff are in your age group which adds to the enjoyment of the cruise. Because, they are the only cruise line that allows this I would try to convince my parents to go on Princess. Not sure where your planning on going, but there are always more young people on Caribbean cruises than other locations.
