Default Drive or fly?

Hello All
I have been reading these boards for a couple weeks now and you guys have been a big help. My first question for everyone is, would you rather fly or drive to port? We are up by Kansas City and thinking it would be better to drive to Galveston, about 15 hours I think. My thinking is it would be a little cheaper, and wouldnt have to worry about how much luggage I bring or take back. The downside is there isnt much of a choice in Galveston, but what is there seems fine for our first cruise. Can anyone give me their ideas on this? Im sure there are things I dont know about that might help me deide. Thanks ahead of time for any and all replies.

Well, for me I'd fly, but that's just me. Do you have to cruise out of Galveston or you just want to?? There would be many more choices going out of FL??

You are far enough away that I would not limit my cruise choices to Galveston. Pick a cruise you like and see what airfare costs.

My best traveling to cruise experience was when I drove to Norfolk about 3+ hours away. Ending a vacation with a 15 hour drive would probably erase any memory of good times onboard. You are pretty much in the middle of the country. I'd look at cruises departing from almost anywhere.

If you are 15 hrs driving , then you consider flying to a cruise that is further away. Who wants to drive 15 hrs home , after a week of total comfort.
