Itinerary vs ship?

How did you settle on your itinerary tor your cruise? Did you have a dream destination,and just wanted to see that port, or select a ship, had a date,and that was that?

What is the port you dreamed of?

For me it was St Maarten...funny thing is our ship hasd engine issues,and we had it cancelled.

Our primary reason for cruising to the Panama Canal was to do the Jewish Heritage tour in Curacao ,however ,we were very disappointed in how the tour was done :40 minutes to visit a cemetary and 15 to the synagogue.

To be honest, I mostly just look for what sails with the time I can get off from work, and then price. Having grown up in Europe, I simply love the idea of travelling. There are a few ports I've been to that I enjoy and would like to get back to, and if that happens, all the better, but if I get to see something new, that's awesome.

I try to book looking at both itinary and ship. I always book a ship I haven't cruised on and hopefully see a new destination. Heck, sometimes the ship is the destination...

My first Ocean cruise was a TA - I always wanted to do a TA; the vessel was the Az Journey! Probably a mistake

- it has set the benchmark so high!

Always for me the Itinerary and then the vessel.

Itinerary first, then price was my consideration for the first cruise. After having done several cruises now I have noticed that my main reasons for choosing a cruise has changed to the overall experience, which would include, Ports,Ship,room selection, ect, ect.
