I've never cruised before, but plan to this Christmas. Originally, I was just looking at Galveston because I thought that it would be cheaper to drive, but after broadening my search ... I'm not so sure that's the case anymore. I've since looked at several options, and narrowed it down to two ships ... Carnival Glory and Carnival Magic.
From the beginning, I have been drawn to the Carnival Magic ... Mostly because of the water park, but also because it's brand new! Carnival Glory is also on my list for the following reasons: a) the dates, b) the length, c) the price, and d) it's at sea on Christmas.
I know that Carnival Magic has yet to set sail, so I'm not going to get any feedback on the boat itself ... But if you were in my shoes, which one would you choose?
In case it's relevant ... I will be travelling with my 13 year old daughter, and possibly my parents and Aunt and Uncle. Anything else you'd like to know about us, to help you help us decide, please feel free to ask!
I would go with the new lady in town) Always nice to have the newest bells and whistles to try. What port is the Magic in on Christmas day? In some ports, you may find some stores, and, excursions unavailable.
Your daughter will have a ball, as this is the cruise, that is filled with kids, and she will always be wearing a smile!
If you can be comfortable with the pricing you find on the Magic..I say go for it! & 7 days is glorious!
Need any help with anything, just yell

Both ships are at sea on Christmas ... At the request of my daughter.
