Hey all. Never been on a cruise before. My girlfriend and myself are both 24 and want to go on a cruise this may (14th or 15) for 6-8 nights. We want to depart from somewhere in Florida. We plan on spending most of our time eating, drinking, and relaxing. She has been on one cruise with Royal Caribbean and she said the food was amazing and she was younger and it was a lot of fun.
Not really sure what cruise ships I should be looking at. I was suggested the Carnival Dream by expedia cruises but I have no idea if this is a good value and suited for us. I know that the cheaper interior room gaurentee rates run the risk of bunkbeds.... which is not okay. The cove balcony stateroom came out to 950 or so per person. Which seems to be a relatively good deal but we would prefer to pay less and have an interior room on a nice ship. There are too many ships/lines/types of rooms. Help!! TYIA
I hope a young person answers your question as I'm older. I just want to say that not all the inside inexpensive cabins are of the bunkbed variety. Next, keep in mind that the best deals will not be happening in May, that's heading into higher rate time due to higher demand time. So, take that into consideration. The same cruise could be offered from Nov. and early Dec. for a much lower rate.
Firstly, find a cruise specialist travel agency,. they will walk you through the process with expert info...decide what islands you would like to cruise to,and see what ships meet your time frame, and destination criteria.
An inside cabin will have 2 twins, pushed together to make one bed..your ta, can find the best placed cabin and a good value , to have more $$ to enjoy onboard..
RCI with their Freedom class ships have the flow rider, walk climbing wall, and a promenade , always busy, with shops and Restaurants, cafes etc...and a parade!
The New CarnivalrDream, could also be a great fit.
Make sure you investigate all the things that could add to the cost of your cruise onboard. Tips are already added toi your bar bill..photos are pricey....excursions....knowing before you go, means no surprises....
Do get travel insurance..the inexpensive cost, will be of help with any trip interruptions or medical issues that can occur...Age means nothing if you have to be evacuated off a ship..the cost can be catastrophic, if you are not covered.
I hope I helped a bit....more info to come from many, I am sure.
