1st timers..method of booking?

A question for our first timers....newbies

When you decided that you wanted to book a cruise, did you call up the cruise line, or, call a cruise travel agency, and, how did you decide on the method you chose?

Come on, you first timers, I know you are out there lurking.....

I do back in the late 80's when I booked my first cruise, there was no Cruisemates or internet for that matter, so I was on my own, word of mouth and a good local cruise travel agency...Went on the old Premier cruiseline, Disney and it was only a 4 day cruise with 3 days at WDW....That was all it took, even with an older ship, it was a great vacation, I bet the kids even remember that first cruise.

My first cruise was in 1973 on a Cunard ship . We went to a local TA and she handpicked our cruise.

we used the internet did alot of shopping around and then used a booking service.
