Ok, me and my fraternity brother are planning a cruise on the Carnival Triumph in March of 2012. We both will be 21 when the cruise sets sail. However, I dont turn 21 til early March and he doesn't til January. I was trying to figure out if we will still be able to book our trip since we are planning on doing it in July. I know that anyone under 21 is supposed to be accompanied by an adult at least 25 years of age but, I didn't if I could book since I will be 21 on the departure date. I would really appreciate any information because I am really excited about this being my first cruise and hope that this "complication" doesn't destory my hopes!
Sorry: You are out of luck. There must be one person in each cabin who is 25 or older.
The only exception are married couples over 18.
You will need to have at least a 25+ go with you.
This was implemented many years ago because of Spring Breakers who were throwing furniture overboard and partying too hardy. It's the same reason that many hotels and resorts stopped renting to Spring Breakers.
Take care,
Mike

This above is incorrect info..... As long as you will be 21 years of age before the day of sailing you can book a cruise.

Yes it's 21 now, but just a few years ago it was 25.
That sounds more reasonable
I can imagine the trouble with a group of youngsters in the bar (you can Drink alcohol at eighteen here) It can be a big problem in some of the Med holiday resorts come to that some of our towns on a Friday night
At least Royal Caribbean put any trouble makers off at the next port
If you are under 21 you must travel with someone over 25 (or your spouse)

OP flat out says he and his buddy will be over the age of 21 when the cruise sails.

I retract my previous statement. Carnival has changed their policy since I last read it. You can now travel if you are 21 or over without having someone 25 or older in the cabin.
Carnival's policy regarding guests traveling alone or traveling with minors:
Guests are required to be 21 years old (on embarkation day) to travel. Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied in the same stateroom by a parent or guardian 25 or older.
Mea Culpa,
Mike
